Coach Solutions has integrated a live weather forecasting service into its offerings to enhance voyage safety and operational efficiency. The Weather Viewer functionality provides interactive data overlays showing real-time weather conditions on planned vessel routes, accessible simultaneously to both onboard crews and shoreside managers.
The solution delivers weather data sourced from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), including pressure lines, cyclone tracking, wave height and direction information. Users can access data through a live map interface or as PDF documents for low-bandwidth environments. The system allows users to advance forecasts up to 10 days ahead to identify potential risks.
Real-time weather visibility along vessel tracks helps crews and vessel managers stay aligned, improving teamwork and enabling faster, more informed decision-making by vessel masters without waiting for shore-based support.
Weather Viewer complements Coach Solutions' Valid Voyage solution, which uses proven fuel models to create accurate speed and consumption profiles. This combination allows operators to select optimal voyage strategies while accounting for emissions regulations.
