Coach started inside Clipper Bulk, one of Denmark's largest shipping operators. The performance monitoring tools were built to solve real problems the Clipper team faced every day, tracking fuel consumption, validating noon reports, understanding why vessels weren't performing to expectations.
In 2016, Coach was spun out as an independent company, Coach Solutions ApS. What began as a performance tool grew into a full voyage optimization platform. Weather routing came later, built on the same validated data foundation. In 2020, Kongsberg acquired Coach, and the platform has grown rapidly since.
