Coach Updates Valid Data for FuelEU Maritime Compliance
New BDN reporting module simplifies FuelEU compliance ahead of the January 2025 deadline
Coach Solutions has built a reporting application that uses the Bunker Delivery Note (BDN) methodology. It makes FuelEU reporting faster and the numbers more accurate, which is exactly where operators have been struggling.
The BDN compliance method standardizes fuel documentation and aids in tracing fuel blending and bunkering. This traceability supports the well-to-wake methodology, which assesses fuel from production to consumption and maintains a transparent audit trail.
The reporting tool integrates with the OVD standard used by DNV and other verifiers, enabling Coach customers to collect the necessary data ahead of the January 1, 2025 deadline.
Understanding fuel types is essential for FuelEU Maritime reporting. The calorific value, referring to fuel's energy content, affects fuel efficiency and consumption. Emission factors indicate greenhouse gases emitted per unit of fuel burned. Accurate knowledge of these properties enables better emissions calculation and reporting, supporting environmental compliance.
Coach users can submit detailed fuel consumption reports with far less manual data entry, and stay compliant with the regulations and the main certification bodies' standards.
“Accurate reporting shouldn't be a challenge, but an integrated part of client operations.”
